I started playing table tennis quite by chance when I was about 18. There was a rusty old table which
a group of us found while at college. After playing on it (badly) for a while, I managed to pursuade my
Dad to help me build a table out of plywood in my Granny's barn! We put in lights and played for hours
in the freezing cold. Then I went off to Loughborough University, where I discovered that the University
had 3 tables out full time, available for anyone to use - it was heaven!
After my University time, I moved away from Table Tennis, but when I moved up to Burton-On-Trent, the
opportunity to play again presented itself. That was October 2005, and I have been involved within the
Uxbridge club and society ever since.
I currently run the Uxbridge Table Tennis Club web-site, so if there is any content which needs to be put
up, please let me know.
